Sin's eyes are warm and deep, holding so much promise. He kisses Athelstan, taking the historian's hands in his and laying him back down on the grass. Warm breasts brush against his side as Sin kneels over him, a hand still on his wrists.

"Close your eyes and feel. Close your eyes and let the world take you. I have hold of you, I won't let you float away. You're safe with me." He chants rhythmic, singing Athelstan further into the trance. He presses a finger to Athelstan's lips and past them, encouraging him to suck."

For some reason he doesn't fully understand, he trusts Sin and lets himself go where he's guided.

The feeling of a finger passing his lips is new, and he's not sure what to do, but his tongue flicks experimentally at it.

Sin's song doesn't falter but there is a note of breathlessness about it as Athelstan licks his fingertip. Sin pumps it slowly before withdrawing. He slides the finger down Athelstan's chin, his throat and onto his chest, leaving damp trails that stand out against the warm air.

He draws patterns then, ancient mystic symbols that light up Athelstan's sensitised nerves. Twice, three times he returns to Athelstan's mouth, his fingers skimming the rims of Athelstan's nipples, the bisecting lines of his chest, the soft trail of fine hair that leads to the waistband of his jeans.

He's not inside Sinric, there's at least three layers of cloth between them, but they might as well not be there at all.

"Kiss me?" he manages to say.

Sin smiles and presses their lips together like a blessing, like the ritual conclusion of some deep awakening. He relaxes his grip, smoothing his hands down Athelstan's arms to cup his cheeks. "Yes." It sounds like a promise and a gift all at once.

It's the final swell of sensation, the kiss and the touch on his hot skin, that send him over the edge into a racking orgasm.

Sin holds him through it, keeping his word he'd keep Athelstan grounded.

When the wave has broken and gone back out to sea, Sin lays down next to him and takes Athelstan in his arms. He rocks Athelstan against his bare chest and singing him down like a child.

He's curled up like a child against Sin, and smiles.

"Like I never have before."

Sin smiles and brings him up into a very soft kiss. "Then you have begun your journey. And I'm honoured to be with you for your first steps."

"You knew how to make it happen. You and - and Ragnar."

He doesn't know what it is about Ragnar, but he can't imagine not knowing him now.

Sin chuckles softly, rubbing his nose against Athelstan's in a sweet little gesture. "I don't know that Ragnar knows that particular method but he does know a lot of other tricks for blowing one's mind, yes."

"I think you're right", he says, brushing his lips to Sin's nose. "Nothing's ever going to be the same."

"That's not a bad thing." Sin smiles, enjoying the little kisses. "Every expression helps us to grow." He brushes a gentle hand through Athelstan's hair.

"I can see their faces now."

But somehow, he doesn't care the way he would have only hours ago.

"Are you worried they'll shun you?" He asks softly.
