The acoustic in the tavern of Ribe were excellent for storytelling, passing sound down the hall just right.

Sinric was sprawled on a bench, holding court as he told his tale.

It was the story of Baldr, most beautiful and beloved of all the gods.

But with a twist. For everyone knew the story of Loki’s jealousy and Baldr’s death and the hands of the much maligned mistletoe, but what became of Baldr’s earthly family.

“For like many of the gods, Baldr walked among men, loved and been loved. For who could not love Baldr as soon as see him? Men had raised sons and daughters proudly, knowing their fair hair and sea blue eyes had been a gift from the shining one.”

“But Baldr’s death had sent a shudder through the land. And even those who did not know they descended from the bright god had wept and wept. Just as all the objects, alive and dead, wept to free him from Hel’s hall. All but the Sly One. “

He took a dramatic breath, hand over his heart to relive such a suffering. “The children of Baldr wept and wept till they made lakes of their homes. They wept so hard that their shining beauty faded and their eyes, once blue as the calm seas turned white as snow or dark as earth for all the water in them was wept away.”

Sinric held the crowd spellbound with his words, letting them wonder if this strange creature with his dark eyes and his odd looks was in fact a child of Baldr.

“And so they go still, Baldr’s tear-wrung descendants, till Ragnarök when he and his brother Höðr will make a new world and beauty will return.” He lifts his mead cup in salute. “Baldr!”

“Baldr!” Many voices call back, giving the skald a chance to wet his parched throat.

Sinric looks around the room as many voices come together to fill the silence after his story and more drinking goes on.

"Just so, Ragnar." Sinric purrs breathlessly. "Just so. Such pleasure is rare for me but powerful and wonderful."

It only drives Sinric wilder with desire. And love, for he has and will always love Ragnar.

"I will fall to your sweet lips." Sinric moans. "If you will permit it."

Ragnar looks up at him, very blue eyes smiling yes, and intensifies his suckling.

Sinric gasps, fingers digging into Ragnar's shoulders as he spills onto Ragnar's tongue. It bubbles over in him in a joyous laugh.

Ragnar tastes it, and marvels.

"You are very ready to this," he says. "Come, let us lie down together."

"As are you." Sinric smiles, drawing Ragnar up into a kiss. "Thank you. Not everyone is so open to new experiences as you."

He lays down in a descendant sprawl, welcoming Ragnar to lay against him. He runs his hand up Ragnar's thigh, teasing the lower curve of his balls.

Ragnar lies beside him, running his hand down Sinric's front.

He spreads his legs to allow Sinric access.

Sinric fondles him slowly, enjoying the weight of Ragnar's balls, the tangle of fair curls, the silken skin of his shaft. Clever fingers tease and explore him from slit to the rim of his hole. All the while watching his expression.

Ragnar's word become disjointed with gasps of arousal.

Sinric smiles and takes Ragnar to the root got a moment, fingers tight around the base of him to keep him from falling over he edge. Not yet, anyway.

He draws back, opening the vial of oil. "What is taboo in one place is a right of passage in another."

He begins to anoint Ragnar's manhood with oil, drawing strange patterns and runes over him, making his shaft slick with them. "And is the pleasure of the powerful in another still."

"Lay back." He instructs and straddles Ragnar's hips, his weight lifted for now. He waits till Ragnar is settled, stroking his chest and stomach before moving to take things further.

Ragnar lies back, moaning in pleasure at the touch, and in rapt anticipation.

Sinric reaches between them and aligns himself carefully, the oiled runes making the way easy though he is tight. He moans warmly, eyes hooded as he takes Ragnar into him.
