Sinric can't bring himself to let go of Ragnar's hand all the way to their rooms. He hesitates a moment before gently pulling Ragnar towards his own rooms. They don't feel right any more, like clothes that no longer fit but it feels better than the empty place where Athelstan isn't.

But then he wonders if Ragnar would prefer his own bed, to warm the sheets left cold by Athelstan's absence with better memories.

The uncertainty makes him hesitate, biting his lip.

"Sharp and intense, like bursting into flame and coming together again after the fireball had passed," Ragnar says.

"I hope I didn't burn you." He asks, genuinely concerned.

"No," Ragnar says. "I passed through it unharmed."

"What it painful?" Sinric scowls, wanting to understand more of what this strange magic can do.

"No," Ragnar says again, "or rather, if the pleasure bordered on pain in its intensity, the joy was much more important."

Sinric considers this, his expression thoughtful. "Perhaps you felt it, as I do. The way my peek feels."

"So sharp and bright?" Ragnar says. "Then I can understand why you can't take it that often."

Sinric huffs a soft sigh. "And perhaps why I'm so drained in the aftermath. It is always a great pleasure but once that, as you say, is like fire."

Ragnar leans in to kiss him. "Do what you want with me," he says.

Sinric brushes his hand softly over Ragnar's cheek, kissing him back with soft and lazy joy. "I am. I have you where I want you most. In my arms."

"Well," Ragnar says, "then I'll just stay here for a bit, shall I?"

"I'd hoped you might." Sinric frowns. "Unless I'm keeping you from something?"

"Nope," Ragnar says, yawning. "Nothing."

"Then share this new bed with me tonight? Let me fill it with new memories."

"Completely at your service," Ragnar says, smiling at him.

"Say things like that and I may beg you to service me in the morning." Sinric grins playfully.

"I'm all yours," Ragnar grins.

Sinric purrs warmly and snuggles up against Ragnar. "You tempt me sorely." He kisses Ragnar slow and soft. "But rest now. These no hurry." On anything.

"But wake me when you want me," Ragnar says, closing his eyes.

Sinric nods and curls up under the furs, resting his head in Ragnar's shoulder. He's lethargic in the wake of their mutual peaks but not tired. And he has much to think about with this new magic, now he knows it worked.
