Sinric knocks on Athelstan's door, a picnic basket on his arm and Ragnar at his side. Still warm from the sun, he leans a little against Ragnar. "I hope we won't disturb his reading."

Ragnar notices at once and looks up; he offers a hand to Sinric, inviting him into his arms to take a break from whatever just put him off.

Athelstan opens his eyes again, more slowly, and focuses on them.

"Sinric?"

"Forgive me." He whispers, eyes closed as he tries to slow down his breathing. "I don't mean to-" a little sob bubbles up his throat. " I'll be alright in a moment."

"Sinric," Ragnar says, as gently as he can be. "What is it? You can tell us, and don't have to carry on."

He can bring off Athelstan soon enough if needed, so he won't have to stay stiff and unfulfilled.

"There's nothing to forgive", Athelstan says quietly. "If you suffer, you... we don't want you to do anything you don't want to."

"I do. I do want to be with you. It will pass, I promise." He reaches back to take Ragnar's hand, touching Athelstan's leg.

He moves back to them, needing their touch to ground him now that the moment has passed. "It is nothing, I'm sorry to have spoiled your mood so."

"This is for you," Ragnar says, softly. "You do what you want to and feel like; you can be with us and just watch while I bring Athelstan his fulfilment, if you'd rather."

"Would you tell us what it was?" Athelstan asks just as softly. "Then we won't do that again."

He shakes his head, one hand covering his still badly bruised breasts. "I have no right to deprive you of something that brings your pleasure. I know in my mind Ragnar would never hurt you with biting but-" he covers his mouth again, stifling another attack.

"Oh Sinric," Ragnar says, very contrite. "I'm sorry -- I'm an idiot! Athelstan will tell you I'm an idiot sometimes!"

"You have every right", Athelstan says, quiet and firm, "not to be distressed so while you're with us. I can take that pleasure at other times, when you aren't here."

"No, please." His voice shakes a little as he urges forward to take Ragnar's cheek in his hand and kisses him softly. "You're not an idiot, far from it."

He moves to Athelstan, kissing him too. "Nor do I want to miss brining you pleasure. I'm sorry it overcame me so badly. Please, let me touch you some more?"

"Stay up here and kiss us some more," Ragnar suggests, "and touch Athelstan's pretty prick with your hands if you want to?"

"Whatever you want", Athelstan says, with a kiss for Sinric and a glance at Ragnar, "and no more of that."

He would like to take Athelstan back into his mouth and forget his weakness but at the moment he's not sure he has the strength for that so he settles between them, his back to the bed as he shares more slow, tender kisses.

He reaches down the take Athelstan in hand and strokes him, firm and warm.

Ragnar puts an arm around him, strokes his hair, and kisses him very gently.

As does Athelstan, when it's his turn. This is all about Sinric, and rebuilding his confidence after the shattering attack.

"Ragnar", he says softly between kisses, as he doesn't want to pull himself away from Sinric's hand, "would you go and bring the food?"

Sinric sense that Athelstan is trying to distract him from his pains, and from the pleasure he feels that he has denied Athelstan through his foolish.

But he isn't sure what it is Athelstan wants so he continues to touch and kisses, finding the sweet spot on Athelstan's neck to worship as he strokes.

Ragnar gets up and fetches some of the food -- fruit, bread, and some sort of pink paste that presumably goes on it, bringing it back to Athelstan.

That'll do. Athelstan arranges the fruit and bread in reach, then looks consideringly at the paste.

"What - " He kisses Sinric again. "What is this?"

"Sweet paste of quinces. It goes well with fruit and cheese." He answers, pulling away from the kisses for a moment.

Ragnar sits on the bed and offers it to both of them.

"Sometimes", Athelstan murmurs, dipping his finger in the paste, "I'm led to believe these sweet foods can go well with other things."

Sinric smiles as he catches on, "Indeed. A Frankish trader once showed me a wonderful trick with honeyed cream."

"Do tell," Ragnar says, grinning.
