AU week - telling the tale.

Sin takes Athelstan's hand and leads him through a door and then another, and up a narrow flight of stairs that seem to be hidden in the walls. To another door that looks like it should be locked but isn't. (Or isn't locked anymore.)

The journey leads them into the roof and a flatish section of tiles where they can sit and look out over the lake, protected from the breeze.

"Come, sit with me." Sin strolls across the tiles, sure as a mountain goat till he finds a good spot to sit with their backs against a chimney.

Sin nods, taking Athelstan's hand and massaging it. "We could try some regression meditation at some point to help you find their voices more clearly but there's a risk it will bring back the fire instead."

"I think..." He rubs Sin's hand in turn. "I think I could live with that. You'd both be there if that happened."

"I won't take you there any other way." He assures softly, "But something like that takes time and preparation. The setting and ritual is more important than the trip that helps you get there. When you're ready, we'll meet up and ride out somewhere wild and do it together."

Athelstan nods.

"I'll do whatever you tell me, you're the one who knows."

"I'm just the guide." Sin smiles softly, reaching up to brush his fingers over Athelstan's cheek. "All things happen for a reason. And maybe helping you what the reason I found my way here."

He turns his head to brush his lips against Sin's fingers.

"Maybe it was."

Sin purrs, "And maybe yours was to help me to feel safe to tell my story."

"I'd like to think we could help each other." He shifts slightly, going for another kiss.

Sin sighs into the kiss, deepening it a touch to brush his tongue softly over Athelstan's lips.

He's grown more used to it now, and finds kisses a comforting thing.

His hand comes up to cup Sin's cheek.

By now, the most of the bottle Sin drank had hit bottom and he's drunk and warmly amorous. He moans softly into the kiss. "Beautiful Athelstan."

"You're beautiful yourself, you know", Athelstan murmurs, kissing him again and again, each one brief but heartfelt.

Sin laughs warmly. "Not like you are. My beauty is all face, my mask. Yours is your heart. It shines like a beacon in the dark. No wonder Ragnar was drawn to you."

"If you didn't have a good heart", another kiss, "would you have been so kind to me?"

Sin kisses back in favour of answering that. His heart had never felt pure and beautiful the way Athelstan's is and he has no answer that isn't painful or down on himself so he just kisses.

The kisses, gradually, start to deepen again, Athelstan letting his tongue come tentatively into play.

Sin groans softly and returns the favour with little licks and teasing brushes. His mouth tastes like spiced and apples and something intrinsic sinful.

"You taste good", Athelstan murmurs into his mouth, shifting them into a more comfortable position to keep kissing - which means stretched out alongside each other. "And wicked."

Sin shifts to make room for him, wrapping a gently arm around his waist to hold him close as they kiss. "You taste like sunshine and new born hope, beautiful Athelstan." He trails kisses down to Athelstan's throat and back to his lips.

He murmurs pleasure at the touches to his throat, then licks at Sin's lips again.

"I like this... this intimacy."

"It's all yours." Sin promises, opening himself to the kiss. His hand rest warm and safe on Athelstan's lower back, the other stroking the curls at the nape of his neck.

Athelstan's hands are roaming lightly over Sin's face and neck as he presses the kiss deeper, experimenting.

Sin doesn't push but lets Athelstan take him, explore him. He answers the kisses in kind, moaning softly into them.

He's not ready to take things the whole way yet, and wants Ragnar to be the first to take him there, but there's plenty they can do before that.

Alternating between deep slow kisses and small teasing ones, he murmurs after a while, "Can I undress you?"

"Oh yes!" Sin groans, his grip on Athelstan tightening at the thought. "Please?"
